FUSION
11:47 am 07.02.03

[note: This entry will be from the point of view of Beej, and should have been posted on 6/25]

Yesterday Ten and I decided to have an informal FUSION meeting due to the formal one on Sunday haven had no one show but us; therefore canceled.

Aric and Zack showed up, and we talked for a while of what needs to be going down THIS week, in the next TWO WEEKS, and ASAP.

FUSION is supposed to be helping out with the OSU-contingent march in the Pride Parade, on Saturday. We thought WE were going to be organizing it, but to our great relief, QueerBrett of the GLBTSS took care of it.

Still, we have a lot of things we need to do, and Ten and I are almost clueless as to how to work procedures, being that the two former co-chairs [Eli and Will] are being very un-cooperative. (Interestingly enough, this has led us to the decision to create a notebook for next year, on how to run FUSION using standardized procedures, etc.)

So, Eli basically just drops a load on us with "this that we have to do" (as if she's still in charge), and then saying that she can't participate with anything, needing instead to be with her girlfriend. Plus, she canceled on several important events -- such as the march, the exec. council meeting, and even the last few meetings of her term as female co-chair. And she spreads this bullshit about how she's worried that FUSION is going to implode next year because Ten and I are in charge. Thanks for the vote of confidence.

And then there's Will. He most likely embezzled a bunch of FUSION money, and we're being audited -- and because of this, we can't re-register FUSION or reserve a meeting room. So right now FUSION does not technically exist. And we can't do the audit, because he has ALL the supposed receipts and the checkbook ... and not to mention he's the only one with access to the FUSION bank account. We're basically fucked, in that department. Unless, of course, he obliges to cooperate.

So, we do have a lot of shit to get done, but thanks to both Aric and Zack, we'll be able to have help, relieving much stress on our part. Still, though, we're rather pissed off at this whole situation. It's frustrating, and I don't anyone should have to deal with this, whether or not they chose to run for the executive positions or not. Of course FUSION's going to be a huge responsibility, but these jackasses are making it harder than it's supposed to be. Ugh!

Signing off,

Beej
